The Norma Jean

  • 2 oz gin
  • 1/2 oz Cynar
  • 3/4 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz sim­ple syrup
  • Hand­ful of mint

Smack/clap the hand­ful of mint and add to your shak­er. No need for muddling.

Shake with ice and strain into a collins glass with crushed ice.

Gar­nish with mint and a lemon wheel.

Recipe invent­ed by Los Ange­les’ own Vin­cen­zo Mar­i­anel­la at San­ta Monica’s Copa d’Oro.

This drink is a huge hit at Post Pro­hi­bi­tion’s Liba­tion Lounge in the sum­mer months. Fre­quent favorite of the infa­mous Steve Blair, Bal­ti­more film mak­er.
