Issue No. 5 —

Bitter End

  • 2 oz white rum
  • 1 oz grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz falernum
  • 2 dashes Bittercube Jamaican #2 bitters
  • 4 dashes of Angostura bitters

Original recipe does not include the Jamaican bitters, however I feel it spices it up nicely.

Shake all ingredients with ice and strain over ice in a collins glass.

Float Angostura bitters.

4 Notes on Bitter End

  1. Hey saw your posting on Rum drinks. I like Rum and mango juice…but what is ANGOSTURA? Your website looks great and it’s starting to fill up with a lot of good things. Need something on Wild Turkey and the different TASTES of Bourbon. Tell me something like Bourbon and Whiskey are different both in how it is make , aged and the taste. Tell us more about that. Maybe we should take a Kentucky tour of the Bourbon plants????

  2. Hey Pops! I know you like rum and mango drinks at the beach. We will have to come up with a special cocktail recipe for that. Angostura is the most popular cocktail bitters, you know that. You have probably seen them go into a Manhattan or maybe someone drinking ginger ale and bitters for an upset stomach. I need your oak barrel so I can age my bitters. Yes we should go on a Kentucky Bourbon tasting!
